Step-by-Step Antim Yatra Vidhi Stages
1. Dwara Puja & Home Departure (द्वार पूजा व गृह प्रस्थान)
Before lifting the Arthri, the priest conducts the home departure mantras, offering rice grains, sesame seeds, and coins as tribute. The chief mourner (Karta) carries the earthen fire pot (Agnikund) at the head of the procession.
2. Vishram Sthan Ritual (विश्राम स्थल / आधा मार्ग विधि)
Midway through the procession to the crematorium, the bier is briefly rested at a designated spot. The position of the deceased's head and feet is reversed, accompanied by small Pind Daan offerings to appease local spirits.
3. Procession Chanting & Sanctity
